Default Help With Fender Cut Mod

ok every body...Myself and a couple other jeepers are going to cut our flares this Thursday. The problem, We wont know what tools we have available until an hour before cut time. so here is what I want to do, I plan on purchasing the proper bits for about 4 different tools. I know a dremel with a fiber rotary blade works but i don;t know what else will. can you guys post a list of the best tools and the bits that would be best for them?

The plan is to at least have the bits ready. My buddys father gets back in town on thursday so i really have no way to verify what we will be using. Also, any tips would be great help, i would like to learn as much as i can before i put blade to plastic. Thank you so much in advance for any help!

Use a jig saw with a fine metal /plastic cutting blade. Tape the fenders up wider than the plate of the jigsaw and go to town. Use some light sandpaper to cleanup the edges and apply the trim. I taped off a huge area and used an exacto blade and some tape rolls, & paint cans to find the radius I wanted. That way both fenders matched. It's an easy project and you will feel great after completing it. I ended up cutting the rear bumper too because I thought it looked like ass with the new sexy fenders.

I used an oscillating saw with a fine toothed blade, sanded the edges, and applied the trim.

Jig saw with a metal cutting blade. Make it so you cut in the middle of the tape( I find that makes the cuts better with less chipping). Sawzall was used to the hangers that stick down to far. Get some black bed liner of your choosing so you can bed line the rears after you take the weather crap out. I was very nervous to do this but I love the way it turned out!!!

I tried all the above and found a Grinder with a 4" cut-off wheel works best - cut off sections bit by bit. The cut-off wheel slices cleanly through the plastic without vibration (like other tools) making it simple to get a straight line and the radius cut you choose. Take a small hacksaw with you to cut the last past of corner sections. Enjoy.

Blue tape, Jig Saw, Roll of black door trim from auto parts store, bedliner paint (Last two optional). I just taped off a bit more than I thought I would want (you can always cut more later if you want but you cant put it back if you cut it too short) I still need to do something with my marker lights, but you get the idea.

Metallic gray sharpies help alot! When the blue tape failed to stay stuck! Once you start you be nervous than it goes away the more you cut!

Osculating saw with plastic cutters least 4 to be safe. Sazsaw, sharpies metallic gray or tape, door trim 2 packs (autozone)

Ok very cool. I am glad i have been given a few options. I am not real nervous about it because my plan is to cut just outside of my line and then use a power sander of some form to kind of "buff" it down to where i want it. I have also read I should take the under guard off first so i can fit and trim properly. I really like the sharpie idea, I will use a cloth measuring tape to make sure both sides are exact. I will post pictures of all 3 jeeps when done.
