Default home made ... CUSTOM cargo tie downs

Looks like we are not getting any cargo tie downs, like our build sheet says we have, so I made my own. Keep in mind that I am NOT a metal worker and the only tools I had in the garage to make this was a drill, hand saw, grinding wheel and a friend of mine had a mig welder. The only problem, other than cutting 1/8" steel by hand, is the cover for the "hidden" storage cannot slide in far enough to latch it with that elastic loop thing. The tailgate will still close and hold it in place, if I keep this design I might cut a notch in the flaps to go around the bolt/nut or just not use the cover.
Sorry had to delete the link, if you want to see the pics just PM me and i'll send them to ya.

Default update

I just went out and cut a notch in each flap for the lid, to clear the bolts. Fits perfect, everything closes and latches like it did before.

Question

Good job on the tie downs. Doesn't sound like fun making them but they will be worth it.

Say, where can I get a net just like the one you have in the pic? That is EXACTLY what I need to keep my dogs from coming through to the front seat area. I gotta get one of those. I have looked a few places and can't find the right thing. Can you point me in the right direction?

I bought the net at a Harley shop.
They have 4 or 6 hook and I think 2 different sizes.
You can search their site "cargo net"

Thanks...I am going to search for one now.
I need to contain my beasts in the back. I think I can hook that to the headrest and console and it will do the trick. Plus have it for the rear cargo....if I ever get tie downs like yours.

Regarding tie downs in the JK: I looked at 3 Rubicon Unlimiteds at the dealer in Bangor, Maine. One had 4 tie downs installed in the cargo area, and 2 had none. They were not mentioned on any of the paperwork for each vehicle. The sales manager is looking into ordering me a set. No information on price yet.
