How to add an amp for you subs and take up zero useable space!!
Hello all of my fellow Jeepers!! For all of the great ideas I have read about in here and attempted on my own jeep, I felt I needed to offer up an idea that is practical and simple to do and only costs you a handful of zip strips.
Like many of us, I love jamming
to music just as much as I love playing in the dirt, but hate that there just isn't much room for an amp in the jeep and mounting it to the sub is impractical since you have to pull fuses, disconnect all of the wiring just to remove it when neccesary. So I spent the day staring at my Jeep trying to find a place to install the amp where it can't been seen and won't take up precious space. So here's my solution....mount it to the driver's seat.
First step....remove the drivers seat. To avoid any codes or duh lights, make sure the jeep is off (not jamming to tunes, either) and disconnect the connector underneath.
Next, flip your seat upside down so you can see the rails and seat springs. Set you amp on the seat springs so that when you use your zip strips to secure it, they will have a good anchor point. I would avoid using the spring and use the bars at the fore and aft ends of the seat frame.

Once your happy with it, zip it in place and reinstall the seat. There are a couple of holes on the bottom of the seat frame in which I ran the power, remote, and ground wires thru so that they would be out of sight and secure. I used extra zip strips and strapped the wires together every few inches to keep them neat. IMPORTANT...make sure you pull a few extra inches of wire thru the holes so that you don't rip the wires out of your amp when you slide the seat fore and aft. I recommend using smaller zips for this. Enclosed are a few pics of the finished product.

Hope some of you can use this. If somebody else had already submitted this idea, I apologize. I didn't search and to be honest, was pretty proud of myself and wanted to share.
