How to install a body lift
Hey guys- installed the RC 1.25" on my 2012 JKU over the weekend. I have a manual tranny, and used the shifter adapter, but it doesn't seem to work as advertised. The inner shift boot still needs to be cut / addressed as 2nd, 4th, 6th, and Reverse don't stick. I tried trimming the metal around the shifter, but that didn't work. I already have a 2.5" suspension lift, not sure if / how that's affecting things.
I haven't been able to find anyone on the forums that has installed this lift on a 2012+ manual tranny, and the guy I spoke with at RC today mentioned that he heard of any personally either.
I'm going to try to trim the inner shift boot but can't find old instructions (meaning, instructions that were handed out before RC started offering the shifter adapter) or a good write up with pics- can any of you guys help?
As a quick note, the outer shift boot on 2012's is different than previous model years- 2 front clips on the front only.

Rough Country's kit comes with relocation brackets for the rear bumper- no gap at all with my stock bumper. On my front bumper (also stock for now), you can't tell unless you're really looking for it and know what a BL looks like. I can snap some pics tomorrow.
Oh, I have Sahara side steps, how do those look with a body lift?

There are no brackets for the front. They aren't necessary anyway as you can hardly notice the body lift. The side steps are mounted to the body so they lift with it

Any luck with trimming the inner boot? I was going to purchase this kit soon for my 2012 manual, but was not sure how hard it would be to get to the inner boot and if the shifter adapter would work. Any info on the inner boot and how to get to it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all the info, but I have just 2 more questions to ask.
How did you get the center console off and get to the inner boot. Is it a grip and rip it procedure or is there screws that I need to worry about?
Secondly, in your post of wrangler forum you mentioned using foam? Is that something needed and will it make more sense when I get in there and start taking things apart?
