Please disregard if this has already been suggested, but I added my handles yesterday and found that a great way to put the holes in the straps is to use a soldering iron to melt through the nylon. My straight pencil style soldering iron quickly put the perfect size hole with no fraying, etc.

Thanks for the thread!!

The strapworks.com appear to be the same as the Chesapeake version for only $3.50 each. I know they might not appreciate us Project-JK users as much but it appears to save a few bucks. I went ahead and ordered 6 of them and will figure out some additional places to install. Maybe a dog leash holder in the back?!?

got the strap works installed today. i couldnt pass up an excuse to get a grommet tool; the one posted up here @ home depot was perfect. it had a cylindrical cutting tool that wasnt sharp enough to cut thru the webbing.

so i heated it up using a propane torch and it cut and cauterized @ the same time. used a single edge razor held in a vice grip to trim and fuse the 2 inches of extra strap on each side. kids love em.

great mod for under $15!

I have a grommet tool with the same problem, never was sharp enough. I will have to try the torch idea next time.

I purchased a pair of RR for the rear on EBay and am really happy with them. You can actually use the same ones in the front, but they partiall obstruct your view, which I am against. I like the feel of the RR and their easy install.

I ordered two from strapworks.com and got them in a couple days. I folded the ends over about 1.25" and heated up my punch from the grommet kit with a torch. I punched through both layers of the strap and installed the 0.25” grommet about 3.25" from the handle. I mounted it using the sound bar screws and you can hang from these things.

Who ever had the original Idea was a genius these things are great.

If you heat your punch before you punch the hole be careful not to leave the punch in place too long or it will open up the size of the hole by melting the strap.

Here are some pictures on how I did it.

Just installed this today. No need for pictures because they all look the same.

I did use a different method. I used my cutting torch to heat my punch and then hit it with a hammer.
