The part you push to honk the horn is the driver's air bag. You can see it in this picture, resting on the steering wheel:

The giant hockey-puck lookin piece with the wires running to it is the airbag.

Yep, same kit works for auto or manual, 2 door or 4 door.

Thanks to Jake for the write-up! I had no idea it would be that easy to do! The pictures truly do say a thousand words. I will have no fear when I attack this project.

And Thanks to hiteck for reviving this old thread. I would NEVER have thought to see if this were possible. I remember the PITA it used to be to put CC on older cars, so I just assumed it would be that hard on the JK. CC was the ONLY option that I was bummed to not have on my JK.

One question... Anyone have MOPAR part numbers for this? My dealer was pretty clueless when I asked about ordering the kit and price. It's a small dealer, so I don't imagine they get a lot of requests for this part! Thanks a bunch!

You can get it through Mopar or I found it on line at a jeepsareus cheaper than Mopar for the same part number. They also have an ebay store. I think I paid $172 shipped.

4wd.com sells them. They'll even price match!

Great detailed write up. My wife and I are buying ours in the next few weeks and the cruise control is the one "luxury" we want, but don't want to pay for the S package. Plus, this makes it look rather simple to do, am I wrong? Thanks.

It is a pretty easy install. The hardest part was removing the 3 spring clips that hold the air bag on. I opted to carefully cut the plastic trim making access to the clips easier. The kit comes with new trim piece so there isn't really any loss.

I just did this and can say it is very easy to do. Your write up will help people do this alot better than the supplied instructions. It took me under an hour to do mine. I paid $150 plus shipping for mine.
