Default JK Dead Pedal Install

I missed not having a Dead Pedal on my new Jeep so I came up with my own.

I sourced this dead pedal from eBay for $10. It is from the 1st gen 5.0 mustang. It fits just right.

I removed the side kick panel and trimmed off the end of it to make room for the pedal bracket.

Drilled 2 holes and attached the pedal with some self tapping screws. Worked out real nicely! I may move it closer to the drivers seat later on.

Enjoy!

Lots of vehicles come with dead pedals as a place to put your foot when not using it on the clutch or brake. The JK did not come with a factory dead pedal.

Great job man, looks factory.

I have been wanting one too. I can't get my left foot comfortable at all.

Nice job! My wife uses the JK as her daily driver and would for sure mistaken the dead pedal for the brake. So I'll have to wait until she gets a new ride or run the risk of her wrecking the Jeep.

Not sure my fat foot would fit along with the clutch... Is this mostly for Auto's?

Yep - I haven't seen one of these on a manual. It acts as a place to put your left foot when driving an automatic...manual and you have the clutch petal.

Nice job for sure... I too have found myself wishing I had a dead pedal. I have a hard time getting my left foot in a good spot. Now you have me thinking instead of just wanting. Gee I love this forum!
