KC c3 3" led light install

6 Attachment(s)
Hey guys,

Just purchased a pair of kc c3 3" led lights for my windshield. I opened the box to find no instructions lol. I'm not the most electric savvy person but I can figure a lot of things out with the help of YouTube. I was unable to find an installation video or write up on here so I was lookin for some help. My main question is the kit fine with just the regular wiring harness, or do I need to purchase a relay? This is what the box came with Attachment 626100Attachment 626101Attachment 626102Attachment 626103Attachment 626104Attachment 626105

Thanks!

I just googled them and the total watts are 16 so just over an amp of draw. I'm sure manufacturers would not ship lights with harnesses that aren't capable of handling the draw. It's a liability thing. You should be fine hooking them up directly but if you want to add a relay that would be okay too.

And welcome!

Thanks for the quick reply! Does anyone have any instructions on the wiring set up?

They didn't come with instructions?! That's odd. Here's how accessories are typically wired when not using a relay. I would lay it out on the floor and see if you can get everything connected together. Power usually comes from the battery to an in-line fuse then to the switch where it's marked as 12V. Then out of the switch where it is marked ACC to the light positive. Light then either returns the ground to the battery or chassis. The third pin on the switch goes to the nearest ground under the dash. The second light is usually powered from the first light.

So from the picture it looks like it should be this but run all the wires externally first to test it. Once it works install the wires permanently. Let me know if you have any questions.

You're welcome. Good luck but you won't need it. ;) Let me know how you make out.

For what it's worth, those lights are pretty slick! Have them mounted on my bumper and they'll definitely put out some light!

Send them back with CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS OF HOW TO REFUND YOUR MONEY.

My other advice is to buy an SPod or equivalent. Makes wiring of accessories a safe task.

are my wires clean enough? or should i move them somewhere else?

Speak with whoever you ordered them from. I'd bet that the LEDs are bad. That shouldn't happen.

EDIT: saw your other post stating these are used. I'd speak with Amazon. That's why they're cheap. Two LEDs are bad.
