Leaks and windnoise
My jeep originally came with a hardtop but was switched cause another buyer wanted a hardtop.
Long story short, theres 3 different rubber gaskets that goes across the windshield. One for a soft top, hard top, and one for the dual tops. My jeep had the gasket for the hard top but because it was switched to a soft top befor I bought it, the gasket wasnt sealing right and I had massive leaks and wind noise.
After me and the dealership figured out what was wrong I was really impressed how quite it is now, plus no leaks.
Just thought I would pass this along, it may help someone in the future

White Fang, can you post a pic of your seal? mine was delivered as a hardtop model and I run a soft top.. and under some conditions, there is INSANE windnoise.. Id like to see what the difference is since I had no idea there was a difference
I'll post pics in the next day or so. I also had a warped 'head liner' which is the long plastic piece that goes across the top. Me nor the guys working on my jeep could tell a difference between all three gaskets, they ordered all three just to make sure.
My top used to have a gap between the top and the gasket, that was where the wind noise came in. Now that all my gaskets and headliner are new level across.
It took 4 trips to the dealership to find out this problem. The first dealership I took it to the guys started giving me the "its a softop and it leaks" speech...The leaking got to the point where it was dripping on top of the radio. I went to my local dealer expecting a fight, but to my surprise they put effort into finding the problem. Nicest people in the world to work with. I dont understand why the other guys were jerks.
I dont care what any dealership says, these things arent supposed to leak that bad-cause I talked to the owner and he said so himself. The best advice I can give is if your jeep is still under the bumper-to-bumper warranty, meaning under 36,000 miles and 3 years old, keep taking it back and if its not fixed use the "Lemon Law."
In North Carolina if you take any new vehicle back 4 times for the same problem they either give you a NEW one exactly like what you have, or you get a full refund. Although, the Lemon Law varies state to state.
Oh, and if they ask "well, have you taken the top off?" Look at them irritatedly and say 'yes', cause that isnt an excuse .

Im just passing along what they told me....Like I said, I couldnt tell the difference between them and neither could the guys working on the top. They were different part numbers, one for the soft, hard and dual.
All I know is I used to have a really bad leak and now I dont
