Default Lev-O-Gage = Anyone?

Ok ... so I was surfing around and tripped across this lev-o-gage site. Wondered if anyone used it?? If so, what did you think?

4x4icon.com/offroad/lev-o-gage/index.htm

The one question that comes to mind -- how do you test it to figure out what your roll-over pitch would be? (which I would figure would be a good thing to know)

I have one. Not terribly useful, but I like gauges and its better than the kludgey clinometers that you usually see. Jeep rates our maximum tilt at 45 degrees which I'm sure is a conservative amount.

Edit: There is actually one that mounts to your rollbar too for incline.

I think that those things, along with the clinometer's are the biggest waste of money. The more you wheel, the more experience you will get and you will be able to "feel" your Jeep while wheeling and know its limitations. I could just see some idiot paying more attention to one of those gauges and not concentrating on driving and end up getting themselves into a bad situation.

I kinda like that. It's only $10 and doesn't need any power. For some of us less experienced wheelers a guage like that can help to get aquanted with the limits of the Jeep before it's too late and you're sideways. No, you shouldn't pay more attention to the guage than your driving, but move information never hurt anyone.

I agree -- I'm not a super rock crawler -- I'm still learning as I go -- and I do like gadgets.
Might be worth a look-see for only 10bucks.

I guess the worst that could happen is I find out it doesn't work, I actually do roll over and I'm out 10 bucks.
(wow ... being out 10 bucks would really suck!)

Anyone know what the incline degree is ?

Its fun to look at, but isnt practical.

I understand your point -- and at your skill level, I'm sure you have a better feel for when your jeep is going to react a certain way. However, at my moderate level, I'm looking to learn as much info about the jeep as possible and if it says I might roll, when I still have plenty to go, the general info would be good to help me reassess where I am and where I'm heading.

For the 10 bucks, I'll give it a shot.

I duct taped a 20 year old bubble level to my hood and got a similar effect. It looks ghetto and worth every penny of the .02 cents I have invested.

i agree. worthless. you'll just look like a dork with one of those.

if you're wheeling where you're worried about rolling...you should probably have a spotter helping you.
