What muffler won't be obnoxious on trails and highway. Mind you, I have a new born, a four year old and my wife who often drive with me around town.

I guess it's all subjective. I'd check out some YouTube sound clips...

MBRP seems to be quite loud....

Thank you. Very very new to this whole deal. First time I drove a jeep, I bought it. Now I'm learning, slowly.

I've got a 18 inch magnaflow under the drivers seat and it's not too loud but sounds decidedly more aggressive than stock. I think there is a link to a video in my signature unless it's been killed.

I bought a Catback High clearance exhaust from dynomax because I had the same desire you did. I listened to a lot of sound clips and read reviews and it was by far the quietest as far as inside the jeep. The muffler is relocated to under the driver side so you don't have to look at that "billboard of rust known as mopar muffler". It was actually priced more reasonably than most of the other exhaust systems i looked at. It has a much better sound than stock but not at all a ricer or muscle car sound. Hope this helps you out.

Dynomax is the way to go. Quiet deep sound and loudness when you really get on it. FYI you can still hear the intake over the exhaust note. I have a friend that has MPRB and it's a lot louder than my system. IMO, hands down best exhaust sounding/performing kit out there!

Between your friend's MBRP jeep and your Dynomax jeep, do you notice a performance difference? No bias please, and also consider if there are other things that would alter the comparison such as weight or other mods.

Well I have a 3" full traction lift on 35's and he's running my old rubicon express 2" on 33's. I didn't notice much of a difference with mine because I was so used to the CAI. While driving his, I did notice a quicker acceleration (he does not have a CAI and I am used to that gain with mine). In all honesty, the performance gained is very slight with both systems, but I did notice more while driving his rig. IMO, either system will make you a proud owner...

My dad's gibson is LOUD.

I ran a MBRP and my Girlfriend has a Magnaflow 9x14. Hers has more of a floor vibrating rumble, but is much quieter than the MBRP. MBRP has a nice mean tone but is not overly loud.

I run a Cherry Bomb Extreme now and that is very aggressive sounding.

A flowmaster 50 delta might work for you.

I just want to add that the MBRP is the nicest sounding exhaust EVER.

For a newborn... it might be a tad loud, but once they grow up to like 2 years old or something, it is perfect.

As for me, when I get kids in a few years... I'm upgrading to a Charger R/T and running Flowmaster American Thunder aggressive tone! The kids can wear earplugs
