Default My $7.00 Bump stops!

Here is a pic of my $7.00 bump stops for the rear of the 4DR. I cut in a notch on either side of the hockey puck for the bolts to rest in and to keep the puck in place. I then cut two pieces of metal (3.5" long) to secure the puck to the plate on the axle plate. Bolts are 2.5" apart center to center. Four stainless steel nuts, bolts (2") and eight washers. Oh yeah, hockey pucks were free.

Hopefully, I will get them on soon and will add pics as soon as I can for the finished install.

Any cons from the masses?

I did something similar last week, but I used vinyl 1x4 from Lowes cut to platform size, painted them and recessed the bolt holes. Came out great and definitely better than 2.5" bumpstops when I only needed 1"...

The weather here has been crappy. Hopefully i will get them on soon. It looks like my factory frame bump stop will clear the bolt heads but we will see. People on the forum actually suggested the hockey pucks.

Got them installed! Took about 20 minutes under the Jeep. Had to find shorter stainless bolts. It added a hair over an inch!

Just got back from giving the bump stops a try. Had the right rear at maximum and the left stuffed to the max. I still had about an inch left to the fender! One puck did the trick!!!!!

I put larger tires on my jeep (285/75/16). When my jeep flexes the rear tires would stuff into my rear fender. Adding the puck now keeps the tire from coming in contact with the fender. The axle has less room to travel before it hits the bump stop.
