ETA: Looking at it I would flip the strut over so the mounts can slide around and locked in place. Im already seeing places for mounting a small fire extinguisher, CB speaker, GPS mount, maybe even a cell phone dock. thanks again for the ideas.

I like the custom overhead setup detailed in the previous pics as well!! Seems like a cheap way to get it done.

I have a similar suggestion. I recently installed a Rock Hard sport cage, and found a suggestion to use a KC Highlights light mount for a light to mount the CB to the center of the upper cross bar. I think you could call Rock Hard and just purchase the single upper crossbar, mount it to your stock cage (which it does anyway and is supper easy),, then use the KC clamp to mount your CB to the front crossbar. Although I like what was posted earlier,, I think this would look much cleaner and add to the rigidity of the stock cage. Although it will definitely be more expensive. You might be able to get Rock Hard to sell you that upper cross bar for $100. As far as I know, this has never been done before, which doubles its cool factor!!!!

Got any more pictures? As I said in one of my previous posts, I'm happy with the way mine turned out for now. Once my work schedule settles down, I'll get around to making one for the back seat area for the kids to strap their stuff to so they don't step on anything getting in/ out of the Jeep.

Looks Great! Using this setup, I can also mount a small speaker near the driver, and have it out of the way!

I wrote down your list of parts, and went to home depot. Problem I have is the superstrut 3-hole and 4-hole brackets. I understand the use of the 5/16" x 1-1/2" washer on top, but how did you keep the small 1/4" nut in the channel of the superstrut?

Mike, I replied to your PM, but just in case others have the same question, here is the explanation. From the initial post, the fourth photo shows the 1/4" cone nuts inserted into the strut channel. The metal portion goes into the channel, and then needs to be turned 90 degrees to "lock" it in place. The photo shows the 1/4" - 20 x 1" bolts coming up from the CB mounting bracket (supplied with Cobra CB, but I think I had to bore out the holes a bit on the mounting bracket to make the bolts fit). For the 3-hole and 4-hole brackets (pictures 2 and 3), the bolt comes down from the top and threads into the cone nuts. The blue plastic and metal part of the cone nuts are still installed like photo 4 shows. Let me know if you need any other pictures or additional info.
