A piece of red rubber gasket material from ACE Hardware, it's in the plumbing section and comes it a 3"x4" piece, 1/8" thick.

Do you have pics of the switch panel during construction? Measurements? Really like the design.

sorry I don't have any pics, I just threw it together at work. If memory serves........... 2 pieces of 3/4" MDF, glued and clamped. then I sanded it to the desired shape ( thats the great thing about MDF, it's so easy to sand), drill the holes for the switches.....now the tricky part..... measure the threaded part of the switch, example: if the threads are 1/4" and the MDF is 1 1/2" thick you will need to remove 1 1/4" of material; cut the ends of the block off (they will be glued back on later) cut a channel out of the back to fit the switches in and glue the ends back on. finish sand and paint. I attached mine to the dash with double sided tape.

This is a "figure it out as you go" kind of project, hope this helps a bit.
