What i did;

I cut the gutter guard into 3.5" strips with scissors.
I had to trim the zip tie blocks in between the grill slightly to have them rest flat.
I used Gorilla glue on the pads (i did not remove them) and all around the blocks and let dry for 24 hours.
They expanded and seem to hold perfectly.
I had to feed the zips through the blocks prior to gluing so i loosely inserted them into each other.
Once dry, I started tying the mesh to the grill. In some cases i had to zip tie the 3.5" mesh to the adjacent one to prevent any uneven rising.
Once all zipped, i did some trim and then left it in place for another evening.
Installed it all this am. Im happy with the results but will keep my eye on the blocks to see if they loosen up.

Will comment below with pics ...
Hope this helps anyone considering the mod.

I like the looks but what is the reason for this mod? To help with bugs and debris?

Protects radiator from rocks and other debris, plus looks awesome! I used aluminum gutter guard!

I do question the protection provided by plastic gutter mesh, from rocks that is, bugs it should stop fine, but any rock going hard enough to puncture the radiator will likely pop right through the plastic, although it may slow down enough not to put a hole in the radiator when it does so, it will still leave a hole in the mesh. Perhaps some tougher mesh is called for?

That's what I figured! I don't think it's puncture the radiator but more to prevent bending the fins flat and restricting airflow. I might work on something similar this winter! Thanks for the post and write up!!
