So I am probably looking at a bunch of changes since I have version 9.041?

Thats the version I had. You will see a decent amount of updates

I went through this process this evening and it worked just as described. I updated from 9.041 to the new version. One thing that drove me nuts about the NAV unit was each time a new route was started the voice prompts had to be manually stopped for that route. There was no way to disable it for all routes. After the update the first thing I went and looked for was the ability to disable voice prompts for all navigation, and sure enough there it was. That alone made the update worth it. I also noticed much snappier surfing through the menus and such.

Thank you for the reps, but I only did the writeup for the install of the UPDATE. can't take credit for what I didn't do.
