Default New to jeeps so this may be a dumb question...

I recently bought a 2011 Rubicon after wanting a jeep for a long time. I want to get different rims and bigger tires to start customizing it. I'm not sure I want it much taller or lifted right now. Would I need a lift kit with slightly bigger tires and if not, what size should I start looking at?

well.. that depends on what you want to do with it. if its never going to see any trails offroad.. dont bother going huge. however.. it it may get some mild trail use.. get a 2.5" coil lift and some 33's or 35's. if you plan on becoming a hard core offroad person. get a 3-4" lift and some 35s. also.. take into consideration if its a daily driver.

keep in mind.. if you go over a 2.5" lift.. youre going to end up needing a lot more parts than you will originally plan on. get with some guys in your area from the forum and ask their opinions and what not. build your jeep for you and not from what someone else did with their jeep.

Sounds like a BB and some 33's or 35's should be what your looking for.

That is a lot to consider since it will be a daily driver and I'd like to start off on the moderate trails. Nothing too hardcore....thanks..

since this is new to you I would recommend just staying with the Stock setup and get used to it first. Once you're more familuar with what you really want to do with it your probably know exactly what you'll want... enjoy...

That's good advise. Whenever I've rushed into a purchase I later regret it. More time on the forum and you'll know exactly what u want.
