Well Pat you're not missing anything. You do have to remove the lic plate,2 screws with a regular screw driver and a cresent wrench or in my case the lug wrench because the nut that holds the plate bracket is the same size as the lug nuts, I guess thats the only downfall but not that big a deal if you carry any tools at all.

But hey, It was FREE!!!!!

after mods.....................................Steps and bugshield gone. License plate relocate done with filler.

Did this and looks great, but now my lic plate light and passenger brake light won't work after adding more wire. Any ideas of what could be wrong?

Check your wires, must of got them mixed up.
