Painted White Hard Top Interior
I am thinking about having the inside and outside sprayed with the Line-X liner. They suggested putting some kind of Kevlar coating over it to keep it shinny and black. Price quoted just under $500. Has anyone used this product and is that a decent price to get a good job done on it. Jeep is black so I'm thinking the shinny black would look good with it.
Hello again..
i already did the the two front parts but still didn't do the the back side.. i used the same paint but the Problem is its not pealing off but when i touch the surface its coming off like dust (sand) i dont know what to do!!?
I need Help please..
1- you did not shake the can well enough for the paint inside to mix (literally rattle the can for a minute +)
2- the krylon fusion has been on the store shelf for that long that the paint inside is no longer blending when rattled. (old paint)
3- temperature was too cold when you performed your applications
Could be one of the reasons stated above or a combination that resulted in the sandy like flaking.
Here is what I recommend you do:
1-lightly and carefully sand down the affected areas where the paint isnt sticking with micro-grit sandpaper (a really really fine grit sandpaper)
2-once you are satisfied that all the affected areas have been sanded down of the faulty paint surface, light apply some paint thinner to an old rag and clean the surface. This should remove any elements that are inhibiting the Krylon from sticking to the plastic surface.
3-wait for surface to air out and dry (10min-15min)
4- reapply krylon fusion flat black camo paint.
In short, the paint inside the can did not blend and when you were spraying, you werent spraying the right mixture. If it was cool outside, this would propagate the negative result you were experiencing.
