Question Painting the Soft Top?

Has anyone painted the exterior of their soft top??? I have the Kaki top and I want to use the Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric spray can to paint it black.

Any Thoughts out there????

I don't think that would go well, why not sell the khaki and buy a black top?

I only paid $250.00 used for the top and hardware and the header was replaced by JEEP under warranty already. The color isn't bad... but if I could paint it black that would be AWESOME!

Why not just trade? I'm sure it would be easy enough to just ship the material and keep the bows... is yours a 4 door? What would that khaki look like on black

I would think Paint would be bad due to the vibration and movement of the top, it would crack and peel. You might try an upholstery shop, they dye stuff like that, they may be able to do the top.

Paint doesn't flex like you need it to. It will crack and then fly off when you drive. Dying it may be your only option, but buying one in the right color is your best bet.

I would try trading it or selling it to someone who has the new tan 2011 four door who has a hard top that matches the tan so that they can have a soft top that matches as well.
