Just out of curiosity what did trigger you to do this ? your missing oil ? our just curious about the PCV valve work ?

The engine runs fine. This is simply an attempt to slow down oil accumulation in the intake manifold, valves, and combustion chamber. Having aquired this brand new Jeep has prompted me to take a proactive approach at vehicle maintenance. Kinda like having spent the last month painting & rustproofing the undercarriage/engine.

As to why I did it? I'm always tinkering or building something :synister:

ok so it not related to excessive oil usage

Alright, after about 4K miles and still not having any oil come out of the drain valve, I removed the oil catch to inspect the interior. No major oil accumulation as I thought to expect, just a very light coating. So it came off and back on went the OEM hose.
