Forgive me but was is plasti dip? I've heard members stated they plasti dipped their wheels.....Is this a type of paint? My son wants to paint his factory rims and was wondering what paint to use on factory aluminum wheels. Thanks in advance

 

It's paint that leaves a rubber coat on the painted surface.

You can peel it off if you don't want it anymore.

There are lots of youtube videos about it.

 

Plasti Dip is a flexible, rubber coating that was originally used for dipping tool handles. Recently, it has been found to be an easy alternative to painting vehicles. I plasti dipped my stock wheels about two years ago and still holding strong. I wheel on the weekends because of work hours. But all you have to do is clean them up with windex or mineral spirits, then five (minimum) light coats till its to your liking. It's easy to use and can be removed if you don't like it. Also it will spread evenly unlike regular paint. Lol

Where do you purchase it from?

 

I got mine from Home Depot or lowes. I used 4 spray cans for all 5 rims.
