Hey guys, it appears that they don't show what is directly behind your Jeeps. If there was a toddler, or dog back there, would you be able to see it?
I've got one coming, but I was thinking of maybe puting mine in the hitch receiver?? |

I have the same head unit and camera as above, but I mounted my camera in the bumper, just above the hitch. Works very well. I can see everything back there and is very useful for hooking up my trailer.
I will try to post a picture tonight if I remember. Also, was yours wireless...if not, where did you run the rca cable in? |
I've had my cameras, wiring, switch forever but haven't had time to hook everything up. Hopefully soon :sad2:

BTW - PepBoys has a color back up camera/video screen wireless package for about $99 total.
Its primarily designed to mount on your license plate mount...using the top two screws that hold the plate on (Its a very small camera, wide angle, mounted in a sealed plastic bar, that runs from screw to screw) Obviously, it could be placed anywhere, being weather tight, etc. Since its wireless, you don't need to run anything back to the dash, etc...it transmits to the video screen by itself, about a 4" screen IIRC, the color picture looked about like the one's posted. I was thinking about front/rear under body mounting points....for self spotting/under truck views. :D |

:D I have 3 cameras I'm working with --- backup, under-rear view, under-front view. One of the cameras is a CCTV type camera that looks fantastic and has a really long range, so I'm not sure where to mount it. The other one is a pretty basic wide angle rear view cam with great night vision for the underside rear. I'm just trying to find the best place to mount them now... not sure. Have you selected mounting points yet? The view/angle from the transfer case cover isn't bad or maybe off to one side (probably driver side) looking at the front/rear from an angle to view both tires --- so something just underneath the driver door area. |
I was considering getting 2 additional cameras facing the passenger and driver rear where there is somewhat of a blind spot. If I do this, I would wire them up so they turn on when I hit the turn signal.

I mounted mine in the Mopar bumper just above the hitch receiver.
It works out good there and it also makes it easy to hook up the boat :) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...n/DSC00086.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...r/DSC00736.jpg |
