I ordered direct from Gennie. Nice people and fast shipping.

Let me just re-iterate the fact that the threaded portion on this adapter is very large (M16-1.5) and most of your shift knobs will not fit. I suggest buying one of their knobs at the same time (I would have if I had known this ahead of time). It all worked out in the end for me, because I added that flash hider, but if you buy a generic shift knob with set screws it probably won't fit.

I ordered the part today. You can go to their website and see if there is a authorized dealer in your area. They have a large selection of knobs but I am looking having something drilled and tapped. Thanks for posting this.... having my own custom knob is a dream I gave up when I bought my auto JK. I have had a custom knob in my last three cars. I was so excited after reading about this last night I couldn't wait to get up and get this!

I called them direct and they were nice but they acted like they didn't normally sell direct. The person asked if I wanted to be transfered to someone who had it in stock and I said "sure, whatever gets me the part quicker". LOL he transferred me but I am not sure who I ordered from.

Yeah, i called them direct and they said I had to go through a reseller and if the reseller didn't have it in stock, Gennie would dropship the order direct ot me. As long as I get the adapter, I'm happy. I'd love to get a custom knob made as well, but I'm not sure who would be a reliable source. Anyone have any recommendations? It would just be a ball with a the face from my avatar painted on it.

Interesting. I ordered the part direct and didn't have any issues. Was pretty fast and easy.

I should note that the threads on the adapter are Metric 16-1.5 (fine thread). Not a standard size and most shift knobs are not going to fit this size. Also, set screw mounted knobs will require some adaptation to fit (that's why the cheap Autozone one went on so poorly).

According to their website it uses a standard 3/8-16" thread.

"As with all it’s products, Gennie Shifter’s Lo-Dapt™ Shift Knob Adapter is built with the customer in mind. This means Gennie’s Lo-Dapt™ Shift Knob Adapter is simple to install because it uses the same 3/8-16" threads used by most aftermarket shift knobs. And, as always, Gennie Shifter doesn’t just speak about quality, we build it! By using hidden jam nuts, brass tipped black oxide set screws (not plastic) and Gennie’s polished 303 Stainless Steel, the Lo-Dapt™ Shift Knob Adapter gives you the quality, durability and professional look that you have the right to expect. I asked them what thread when I called and they said 16mm 1.5... so the website must be wrong... at least for the JK adapter. They make 2 other adapters.

Looks easy...thanks for the vid. Planning to order one of these adapters on Monday. If I wanted to drill out a baseball to use as the shift knob, I suppose I could just glue a 3/8-16 nut in the hole, right? Any comments/advice on this idea?

Some of the adapters run a different thread size. All of the knobs are 16mm x 1.5 and require an insert to work. Trust me, the adapter is metric 16mm x 1.5, it is not 3/8th-16. With the correct nut in the baseball I see no reason why it wouldn't work.
