I love the look, I also wish these were made with some bolt on fender flare extensions to gain legal wheel coverage, that is the only thing that kept me from purchasing these.

According to the new 4wd catalog they sell bolt on fender flares for these now. 150 front and 150 rear.

I spent all of 2 days installing front and rear sets. Antenna removal was fairly simple. I think the biggest PITA was drilling the holes in the rear body pannels to set the rivets and the tool they send is horrible

Front fenders

Hey guys, I was wonder if you could tell me something...
I bought the XRC armor front fenders and they arrived a few days ago. The question I have is, do they completely replace your side panels? or do these new fenders mount on top of your existing side panels? Instructions aren't that clear and I am hoping for the former. Also, does anyone have any step by step photos they can share on the front fender install?
Thanks,
Jeff

How can they

How can smitybuilt advertise, "no modification or drilling, complete bolt on design". To me that is a flat out lie. To me a mod is some thing you bolt on and something you DON'T need to drill into your jeep panels. although I am buying them, I bought them on a whim because I liked the looks, and now that I bought the fronts I HAVE to buy the rears and in doing so, I have found you need to drill several holes into the rear quarter panel. Complete bolt on design, should be what it means, to bolt on, as smitybilt states, no drilling required. The last thing I wanted to do was drill into my body. I live on the East coast, and we have a lot more rain, salt, and snow to cause rust and damage to the drilled areas. You can coat them with paint but it will never hold up as from the factory, un-drilled. :sigh:
