Cool mod! I did something similar with mine before replacing them. Rather than screwing the cut down parts back together, I plastic welded them and covered it all with a rattle can bed liner as well. The rear was cut down to fit the Bushwacker flares. I wanted them to appear as if they could have come from the factory like that.
