Surco Safari Rack Review
Okay so I purchased a Surco Safari Rack and added the extra floor boards to it. Now I've read that you're not supposed to put too much weight on the roof.....but I like to push the limits. Assembly was extremely easy if you have problems putting it together well you're most likely an idiot. Although they shorted me a few screws on the extra floor boards no big deal(2 to be exact). Mounted it to the roof fairly easy(you do have to remove bolts from the top to lift the hard top and insert mounting brackets). I wanted a roof rack that I can remove easily since I have little clearance in my garage. Okay so I put this rack to the test this weekend I loaded it down with at least 200lbs of gear and then took it on a 4x4 trail to go camping. I had no real issues besides being top heavy and made it 7 miles down the trail to my camp. It's aluminum and I felt it was sturdy enough. On my way home 2 bolts loosened up but that may have been my fault when I mounted it as I was in a rush the rack was still firmly mounted though(I would just check them after a few hundred miles). I would buy this rack again good value for the price point
