Default Toggle switch installation question.

There's probably a write up on this already but my search skills aren't that great.
Here's my question:
I recently installed power cables to the front and the rear of my JK to power a winch. However the power is connected to a solenoid that has a switch to turn the power on and off. The toggle switch requires one wire to the solenoid, one to Ground, and one to positive on the switch side of ignition. The kit comes with a red wire with a fuse and splice clip. I need to know what's a good wire and its color code to splice into. Preferably on the Driver's side by the parking brake if possible. Any help would be much appreciated.

The wire from the power outlet is ignition switched. You have to disassemble the dash a bit to get to it, there are two wires in the back...ground and power

Are you using a winch on a hitch adapter plate? I have been thinking of doing that.
Just out of curiosity, what size wire did you run to the rear of the Jeep for winch power?

I'm running 2 gauge to both front and rear. I'm using the warn 24' kit that I'm using the extra cable to make a cable to the front. Bought an extra set of warn quick connects then added one the the front cables and one to the leads off the winch. I'll take some pics then post. Also if your interested in front and rear receivers go to www.texmood.com. My old man runs that company and Jeepers get a good deal.

what part of the dash needs to be disassembled? I'm not sure what the power outlet looks like or what color the wire is?

Not sure what you mean by inserts. On the front I have a skid plate that mounts into the reciever, it helps keep mud out of the reciever and gives a little more protection. the small silver barbell is a locking reciever lock. Both front and back are keyed alike. and the red part is the quick connect.

Hi, you may want to relocate your power quick connects. The one item on my jeep that drags alot is the rear hitch.

I thought about that when I did it that way but have never dragged my hitch. I'm usually in mud more so than rocks but even when I got stuck the other day I didn't drag it. I guess if it ever happens I'll re-locate it to the top side. but good lookin' out.
