Default Tuffy 2-Door JK Security Enclosure Mini-Writeup...

This is so simple to install, only a mini-writeup was needed...

Step 1: Remove the two T30 Torx bolts for the "tiedown" loops at the front corners of the rear cubby cover:

Step 2: Put the left and right seals on to the edges of the front piece

Step 3: Slide the tabs on the front piece in between the plastic trim and the carpet.

Step 4: Put the T30 bolts back in and tighten.

Step 5: Slide the seals on the sides of the lid and place the lid on the enclosure, making sure you stick the back in first and the corners slide under the edge of the tub.

Step 6: Install the two Wing nuts provided, the "Wingnut" part in the enclosure.

The only thing I had a problem with was that the back seal hit the hard plastic piece of the hardtop rear window, causing it to not shut properly. I had to remove the seal and when I felt around underneath, the plastic piece barely clears the edge of the lid. There is zero room for a seal with the 2011 hardtop on so I will leave it off until I get a soft top.

Here is the window edges with the seal installed and me pushing it in as far as it will go: (the tailgate won't close with the seal in)

I installed mine and initially had a similar problem. What I found is that you have to adjust the front of the enclosure up forcing the back side by the rear window down. This way the seal sits below the window seal and allows the gate to close properly.

I'm confused...

I see this is a 2011.. that's good.

I see it's the top part of a security deck..

But is there a back panel to it as well? What stops a would-be thief from tilting the seat forward and accessing under the panel? Seems like it's only half a solution.

I have an old Bestop FlexaTrunk I am trying to convert for 2011 compatibility, but I am stalled on all the details. Can you post a link to which product this is??

It's the model 282 on the Tuffy site. There is a sheet of metal which lines up against the back seat. You attach it at the tiedown bolts and the lid screws in with thumbscrews.
