Default Tuffy Deck 2007 modified to fit a 2012

In October I traded in my 2007 for a 2012. Before I traded it in I pulled out my Tuffy deck with the hopes of selling it and putting a new one in the 2012. Well after some thought and careful planning I decided to try to modify the 2007-2010 deck to fit the 2012. It only took me about 2 hours, and It works great. I actually like this deck more then the one made for the 2011-2012.

First I held the sides up to the Jeep and marked the sides with a sharpie where they needed to be cut.

I then took the 4" grinder and cut where I marked.
After cutting I rounded the corners, sanded primed and sprayed with bedliner all of the cuts.
On the right side I created a tab which I clamped to a piece of wood and bent. This tab was created to help steady and mount the passenger side.

Next I took some Door moulding protector and placed it on all of the edges to keep from scratching the Plastic in the Jeep.

I then installed the sides. I used the main seat bolt just like on the 2007 and the door guide bolts. Where the side panels touched the panel and the Tab on the right side above the Sub wolfer I used Double stick tape as a temporary solution.

Finally I added the back and top lid just like you would when mounting it normally.

The Deck came out great. I am not completely done. I would like to secure the right side a little more. I am considering adding a piece of angle iron and using nutserts to attached it to the body of the Jeep just to keep it in place. You know if I wind up Wheels UP. The deck is very secure and does not shake or rattle.

This is awesome. I think I may try this myself. So no issues with rattling? Did you end up adding any additional anchor points to the body to make it stronger?

Thanks, No ratteling, Yet. I did have to bend the drivers side where the tail gate closes and add another piece of rubber molding. It started to scrape the tailgate. I plan on adding a piece of angle iron to the right side and run it to one of the speaker bolts, I just haven 't done it yet.

Finally did this today. It turned out great. Agree on needing some extra bolt down points. Thank again for the idea. Not the best pic, but the weather was too nice to leave the top up today.
