The stool is a good solution, but I saw it as one more thing packed in the Jeep that would get bumped around on the trail, and maybe slip out and become debris in an accident.. some passengers DO need some help getting in though.. So...

My solution was to take a section of old tow strap and secure it to the seat risers. It tucks safely under the seat, is secure but can be pulled out and flopped over the side of my rock sliders forming a kind of stirrup.
