The under-floor storage mod has been in service for quite a while, now. It was well worth the effort.
I made one for a friend of mine, but he wanted it a little deeper, so I used 2 X 6 steel studs, rather that the 2 X 4 steel studs.
It's a little higher than I would like, but holy cow, the stuff he can get in there.

Well, it was such a good idea I made one:

I used a cabinet lock I had in stock. Made from wooden 1x4 covered in 1/2" plywood. I'll probably go with 3/4" down the road.

Be careful you do not hit the tailgate when it is all built - mine does just enough to make the gate need a bit of force to close it.

I have a 2011, and all these ideas look great, except for the bloody unremoveable sub woofer in the back

Unremoveable? Only if you can't live without it.
I took mine out. Not much difference going down the road.
A friend of mine moved his sub to the fender well.

I have most of the panels cut, just need to order some Raptor liner to spray them with.

The Subwoofer is held in by three black acorn nuts. Remove them, unplug the sub, stick it someplace else (mine has been out since I bought the Jeep, dumb design as it is in the way).
