Wiring off road lights question

If I'm mounting lights to windshield light mounting brackets, can I attach the ground wire right to the bracket?

Possible but I wouldn't. Most likely won't work though cause of poor grounding from paint and powder coating. Just run it to battery with your hot lead

I wouldn't right inside of your hood on both sides there's grounding points that's where I always ground to
