Default Write-Up: LOW cost window storage

SO, this is not the greatest game changer out there, but I thought I would share.

I was looking for an easier way to store my windows, living in FL, with the rainy season, there is a lot of off and on with the windows. I have a roll-up window storage, but it can be a pain in the ass if I know I am going to be putting the windows back on the next day (or later that day). Looking at the back of my workspace, I got an idea from the pegboard.

Let me know what you think, and any improvements to my design is VERY welcome...

Here's what you need:

- Electric Drill
- two clamps (From Home Depot Or Lowe's). These need to be metal with the rubber over the ends (you will see why)
- 3/16 drill bit
- Measuring tape
- electrical tape (from marking on the floor, anything will work - sharpie, masking, etc)
- two hooks from a peg board.

1. find a location suitable for hanging the windows. Maybe a blank wall, or like I have a wood shelf.

2. Make marks about 27" apart.

3. Drill one hole on each end.

4. Place hooks inside holes.

5. on the clamps, remove one of the rubber covers from the open end, this should expose a hole.

6. Make a mark on your floor 27" across - this is so you can estimate where to clamp the windows when you have them off the truck.

** NOTE: I tried this where you bolt the clamp to the wall first, then try and bring the windows to them, but the clamps were too strong and windows too cumbersome. Easier to clamp on the ground and hook to wall... **

7.stack all three windows together, make sure side of clamp with hole in it is on the same side.

8. Clamp widows together and hang on hooks:

Not the most creative, but it works for me... I can have my widows off, and safe from being scratched in seconds. If I need them, I have have access to them instantly.

Get Wet??

dunno, not many peeps drive with the windows in the truck... I do if there is a chance of rain, but this was meant as a quick storage solution, where I wanted to just drop the windows and run around. Longer trips, windows come with me.
