I was finally able to get some pictures of my yellow fogs. I swapped the bulbs instead of using the Xpel film others were using. Turned out just how I wanted. great light output. I like the contrast between the whiter sylvanias and the yellow fogs. I'll try to get some night pictures tonight. Enough talking, here are the pictures:

No offense here, but more like an honest question:

Why the yellow?? To me, it kinda makes it look like an old pickup truck with worn out headlights. Is there a benefit as far as being able to see better or something?

 

It helps to see better in adverse conditions (rain, snow, sleet). The yellow reflects less off the precipitation, whatever it may be, allowing you to see through it instead of at it. Same deal with fog. You can see through fog better with the yellow light than with standard halogen. Like when you put your high beams on in the fog it just lights up the fog directly in front of you and makes it harder to see. The yellow helps to prevent that.

 

Gotcha, makes sense.....like all those cars with yellow fog lights, just didn't know if it was more for looks or purpose.

not sure about him, but HIDlook.com has some yellow, blue, white, etc. bulbs....I've ordered from them in the past with no problems.

 

I got the Luminics 2500K Yellow H10 bulbs. I went with luminics after hearing good things about their bulbs. A little pricier but I wanted to get what I paid for and not have to replace them often. They were about $30 shipped. I got them from some store after searching on a price comparing site like bizrate.com and picked the cheapest. Can't find where..

 

3000K yellow bulbs finally showed up today. ($12 shipped from ebay - we'll see how long they last)
I was expecting more light output, but it was about the same as the original whites.
I little bit of road crud on the lenses adds to the glare in the picture, but checking adjustment on the garage door showed good cutoff below the lowbeams.

 

with the xpel film, if you spray some soapy water on the lights before you put them on, it allows you to adjust them without messing up the sticky, then when its in place just press down from the middle out or at least thats what you do with these http://www.headlightarmor.com/index....nfID=52&Page=1
