yet another roll bar handle grip (with a twist)
The inlaws are coming in to town, and I was looking for grab handles to add to my 4dr so they could get into the Jeep a little easier.
What I did was take open ended mountain bike grips($7 a pair), and use a length of sprinkler riser nipple
(~$3.00 at lowes) to make the grip rigid.
that way it doesn't pinch your hand when you pull on it.
Ive used grips like this on kayaks , and they have held up for years.
you just want to stick with the harder rubber compounds - the really cushy stuff gets nasty in the sun.
I havent seen anything like this in my searches. dont think it has been covered. It is still in the mock up stages, i need to get the straps finished up.
