Post Up Some JL Pics! This Forum Needs CPR!
Here's a pic from a couple weeks ago on the Tail of the Dragon in TN/NC. It was raining, so I didn't have to deal with many motorcycles or supercars and the few that were there were not pushing it very hard. I was just cruising, but got on it at the exit of every turn, which was fun until my 8 year old son became car sick and barfed. Luckily, most of it landed on the floor liner and some on his pants, Lol!
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jk-...65140c661a.jpg My JLUR is early production, built in December of 2017. I ordered it the second day after the banks opened. It is a six speed manual. I put a Mopar lift on it with 315/70/17 C load rated KO2's and added a Rancho adjustable front track bar and a Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer. It rides, handles, and drives beautifully. A Magnaflow axle back exhuast lets the engine sing when it revs. It sounds GREAT! Anyway, I've had it off road quite a bit. It went to the Badlands in Attica, IN with only 700 miles on it, a couple days after the lift was installed. It's been there a couple of times, then last October we took it to Moab, via the Rimrocker from Montrose, CO. It's been to other places, like the Daniel Boone National Forest and Wildcat off-road park in KY, and to Hurricane Creek Rd and other trails around the Smokies. Future trips include Silver Lake, MI, Drummond Island, MI, back to Colorado, and Eglin AFB, Florida. I'm with Indy Jeep Junkies Jeep club in Indianapolis, so there will be plenty of adventures coming with them, too! I've had zero trouble with this Jeep and the fit/finish was perfect from the factory. I've got about 25k miles on it now and it gets 20.5mpg on flat highways, so I couldn't be more pleased with it. Other mods include a Smittybilt XRC9500 winch, Tuffy console safe, Tuffy tailgate security box (doubles as a table), Baja Designs LP6 lights, and an Extreme Terrain Barricade recovery kit. Comms incude a Uniden BCX760 CB and Midland MXT275 GMRS radio. keep food cold in a Snomaster 35L fridge. I've got the dual tops and run doorless with the soft top all summer, and then hard top with Bestop Sunrider for Hard Top. The next mod will be Warn tube doors. I ordered them months ago, but they've experienced delays. I'll probably get them in January, which will do me a helluva lot of good. Can't wait to see some of the other JL's out there! |
Here's a few more pics.....
Sometimes we run windshield down, too! My kids love our Jeeps (Still have the JK, too!) https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jk-...8a3611e45c.jpg Elephant Hill in Moab...Now one of my favorite trails. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jk-...ff6c1d2f18.jpg |
Very cool that you're enjoying it and 20mpg on 35's is actually pretty acceptable in my book. I get much less but you feel the pain of the 3.8l too. I had a JL 2dr as a rental and they're nice, unfortunately I didn't have it long enough to drop the windshield, just long enough to take the top halfway off.

That windshield is so easy to drop and the best part is that it doesn't leak when you put it back up. I've heard YJ, TJ, and JK owners say that can be an issue with them. |
JL is a nice Jeep. This is a JK forum, why don’t you start one for JL owners?

JK-Forum.com - The top destination for Jeep JK and JL Wrangler news, rumors, and discussion >Jeep JL Wrangler >JL Show & Tell Yep, I was right. There is a nice sub forum here on JK-forum for the JL. And what's even better is that there are even sub-forums for XJ's, WJ's, ZJ's, YJ's, TJ's, CJ's, and every kind of _J imaginable! Even my daughter's little Renegade has a section! Why go anywhere else? |
.....he's been here since the beginning, why go anywhere else? I mean, I guess technically there were folks signing up in late 2006 as they ordered the 2007 model but most of those folks are long gone.
