The four door can also pull more than the two door because of the wheel base. Down the road I may go nuts and push my rear axle back but after the last three weeks I'm done with any major reconstructive surgery.
I'd love an old trailer to turn into a camper one of these days. I just don't see it happening in the next three years. I have no where to put it in the house I'm in. I'm not giving up my Jeep's garage spot for a trailer, not going to happen. And I can't have a trailer in the drive way so... :sigh: One day. |
Is there anywhere on the anchorage side of eagle river that someone could do a little bit of wheeling? Not necessarily trails or anything, just stuff to climb. My buddy got a jeep yesterday and we'd like to test it out somewhere local

There isn't much of anything in the Anchorage area. I know of a trail down towards Homer, but it's just a trail. Hatcher Pass has some climbing, but it's past Wasilla/Houston. There's Monument, but I won't go near it, too many people have fallen off the sides of the trails. I'm not sure enough of my climbing to tackle that.
A lot of wooded trails and swamp here. |
Well it looks like we're off to Eureka this weekend. Anyone been?

I've passed through there a few times on my way north to camp. I never stopped there though, not even to get gas. Let us know if there is anything good.

Well we just got back from eureka a couple hours ago and it was an epic weekend! Saw just about every terrain we could ask for. Rocks, mud, overland, water crossing, eeeeverything! These pictures don't show any of the hard core stuff since I was driving lol. Later I might get some more from others.

Does anyone have a cheaper alternative for winch mounting plates for stock bumpers? Six states wants like $320 for a warn plate..
