Default looking for tires

I was wondering where yall have found in the Anchorage area that has the cheapest tires or even a website that doesnt rape you on shipping. I am looking for 37/12.5/17. Also wondering what tire is good for the snow and ice. Thanks for the help.

Ahh the whole question of, "who will not rape me on shipping and/or cheap stuff in Alaska." Best answer I can give when pricing 35s while I was up there was Costco for 35s and I don't think they do 37s. With that being said, I called our resident Discount Tire Direct vendor on here (https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/memb...re-Direct) and he quoted me 5 BFG KM2s shipped for cheaper than anyone up there could do for 4....problem being I never could get the coin together.

As far as a good snow tire....I personally would go with a good mud tire and sipe it for the winter. And don't pay the local yokals to sipe them you can get the dremel attachment and do it yourself. It takes some time but nothing a 6pack won't help with.

It has been a couple years since I lived in Anchorage, but I ordered some tires while I was there from summitracing and their standard 12.95 per tire shipping charge was all I had to pay.

$12.95 per tire for shipping???!!! You have GOT to be kidding me. How did they ship them? I've never heard of anything so cheap up here. Well, maybe I should say that....Dell sent me a computer with free shipping. But normally anything like a bumper or tires is almost completely out of the question because it just costs so damn much to ship. Looks like I will be looking into Summitracing to see if they still offer such a deal. Thanks...

I think they shipped them freight and it took like a month. It was a couple slicks for my drag car I had up there...no one in Anchorage could get the ones I wanted and i didn't have a choice. I was waiting when I ordered them to be bent over on the shipping, but it never happened I just hope it hasn't changed, this was 2004 when I was stationed up there I think.
