Default 33's on a '12 JK?

Hey guys, I'm new to Jeep and the forums. I just bought a '12 JK and I've been reading on here that you can put up to 33's on a stock JK, no lift... Has anyone actually ran their Jeep like this? If so: How bad does it rub on the trails? I try to get out on the trails every weekend but I do use it as a DD. Looking to put better off road tires on it and want to get bigger tires so any input would help!!

Here's a link to get you started. You may get some rubbing on the front plastic air dam. Most people just rip/remove them from the GetGo before wheeling...

Thanks. I've looked at a ton of pages on this site and seen and read that you can, just wanted to know how bad the rubbing was... I'll only run it that way for a few months so it shouldn't be too big of a problem

YOu can run 33's with no lift and have minor rubbing to none, it actually all depends on the tire manufacturer. Tire companies manufacturer tires with slight variances and different tires will have different results. If you plan on keep your stock wheels then you will more than likely be ok going to 33's, if you are going to buy and after market wheel then you can get away with most wheels.

Read this thread, it will answer most of your questions ....

Thanks sapper, this helped out alot. I'll be running stock wheels but only until i save enough for a good set of wheels. Then I'll be adding the lift...
