Default Bolivar Beach

After seeing JK_Joe's beach pix, I had to add a few of mine from the last couple of weekends on Bolivar.......

"Was that a Hummer?"
"Naw, it was an FJ."

"The salesman at the dealership said these could go anywhere."

"If you get lower, we can really see more bikinis."

"Its okay to drive in the dunes. Just don't get stuck and dont get caug...........OH CRAP!!"

Hey Todd, great pics as usual..

We are planning on heading down there next weekend. Are they any decent campgrounds/RV parks in Bolivar / Crystal Beach? I would just take the camper and camp out on the beach, but the wife needs electricity, and running water :(

Jeff, this is not far from our house. Never stayed there, but heard nice things. Its right across the street from the Tiki Beach Club Bar & Grill.

This one is a little further down 87, about 1/2 mile. Its worth a look also.

LOL....You are correct. I did take more pics than that. But I don't want everyone to think I'm the Crosby Pervert, driving up and down the beach, taking pictures of nearly naked women, their oily skin glistening in the sun, their strong thighs resting on towels and the sand, their.............oops...

My wife found a cabin/house to rent around Crystal Beach somewhere. That way the kids and grandkids can come and stay also. But something came up and we didnt do it yet.

Before you rent it again, let me know where you plan to stay.

I can tell you what area of the beach you DO NOT want to be around.....

They dont call it the "ZOO" for nothing...

During the Spring Break weekends, it took me almost 90 minutes to go 300 yards down the beach.

Well Renee, I wouldn't say that Crystal Beach/Bolivar is "better" than South Padre, its just different.

South Padre is more "touristy". Bolivar could care less.
South Padre gets most of its income from tourists. Bolivar gets most of its income from cattle ranching and shrimping.
South Padre has pretty beaches. Crystal Beach is just a name only...not dirty just silty and sandy sometimes.
South Padre has hotels from one end to the other. Bolivar has two motels....sort of.
South Padre is actually a city, with a police force and a mayor. Crystal Beach, and Bolviar for that matter, is not incorporated. They tried it in the 70's but almost killed one another....
South Padre is close to Mexico. Bolivar is close to Louisiana.
South Padre has a night life with lots of bars. Bolivar rolls up the sidewalks at 10pm.

So, if you want to take your family somewhere that is always jumping and with lots of things to do and see, South Padre is it. If you want to take your family where you can relax and get away from the big city, Crystal Beach/Bolivar is the place for you. They don't call it the "Redneck Riviera" for nothing...
