brother I don't think there is anything less than 4 hours away not involving mud around here. I need a new line of work and a move to Colorado.

I'm trying to get more info on Shiloh Ridge, so far it looks like another mudhole just like spring, been there done that.

Anyone been to Shiloh that can give me some info.

btw..........just to let you know rocks will mess your jeep up worse than mud anyday, and im not trying to be a smartass or anything but i saw the bottom of your jeep and either you havent been rock crawling or stayed on the bunny slopes............
Rocks will mess your Jeep up? Really? Didn't realize that, I'd have never guessed as long as I've been owning Jeeps . Most rocks it's seen so far has been Wimberly, time to find some fun places to go

Thanks for the info on Shiloh, guess I need to just check it out in person.

Heres my question. I drive and 07 two door X. Its nekkid, no mods. Can it handle Shiloh to a point of worth going? I was the fat kid who couldn't swim and had my t-shirt on in the shallow end. I've put that part of my life behind me now and don't want my jeep and I to sit off the trail with the top up while the cool kids play.

if you wanna go west try, long ranch, trees ranch, katemsy rocks, cline ranch or boulder creek ........satans playground is also nice

if you wanna go north try barnwell mountian is cool or you can keep going to hot spring or clayton

we like shiloh ridge because its close and cheap ( 40 bux for 3-4 days and 2 hrs from spring/conroe)

but beware at most of these parks anything that will really challenge a built rubi on 35-37 tires will probably result in undercariage and/or body damage.
the trails that wont damage anything probably wont present much of a chalenge. Be prepared!!!

also we will be going to trees or k-rocks for the fall texas get together
Didn't take you as being a smartass at all chief, thought it was funny actually and I don't get all excited about things said on this here information superhighway .

If you'd have looked "under" the jeep it has some Wimberly rock rash from my last trip, but I do keep the visibles undercoated just because that's how I roll. I'm a rookie rocker, want to learn the ropes, not tear up my DD and intend to learn from some friends who respect that. What sucks is being a DD and "not" wanting to tear things up is a tough thing. Most of the guys I know who are good at RK'n trailer there rigs and it leaves us "drive-there" guys really nervous about breaking on the trail and getting back home. My goal is to just learn the ropes this year. It doesn't have to be rock per say, Shiloh might be fun. When it was legal and dried out I used to practice on some areas at Pelican in my 06 Rubi, just to get a feel for what approach angles in the Jeep would result in. There were a few good hardened washout areas that would get you pretty twisted up.

...great ...now your a cop with a Vengeance.

Tell you what, most of it boils down to common sense, depend on no-one but yourself and if someone does end up helping you on a precarious area and they happen to not be a stumbling drunk then you decide whether you want their help or just do it alone.

I don't depend on anyone, never have, never will, how I was raised. But I take the help when I've assessed the situation and know it's someone I can trust. I also have learned after 4 Jeeps to challenge myself and my rig sometimes if I think it's possible to do it without hurting anyone, myself or my rig. I've learned to just say no and go around when following a group that reach a challenge I don't feel comfortable with.

Just gotta have your own command presense and represent yoh yoh

haha....mine is usually screaming for her life and "let me out let me out" while on top of something precarious. But she's getting better and now wants a 4-dr Rubi.
