Calling all DFW Jeeps!
Ok, our bar has confirmed the BBQ cook-off for May 15th.
They have also contacted our Ben E. Keith rep about getting a Jeep banner to hang out front and have also reserved an area of the parking lot out front for all Jeeps.
This thing will be big. All the food will be free and the house beer (Cerveza Cantina) will be specially priced at $1.25 a bottle all day.
The entertainment for the evening will be Kyle Venable (Dallahachie Boys), Chris Claridy (formerly of Fever In The Funkhouse, Ten Hands, and Eleven Hundred Springs), Jason Martin (of Martin Bros. Custom Motorcycles; yes, the ones from Discovery Channel), and Dakota Butler.
Doors open at 11am and the BBQ judging will take place around 2pm. Dart tournament starts at 4pm and the concert begins around 6pm or so.
This is a great opportunity for us to meet each other and have some fun. Spouses and girlfriends are more than welcome.
We talk about how other Texas cities seem to get together and have a good time, so let's do the same.

I've posted it before but just realized I hadn't posted it here. We're on the Dallas County/Ellis County line, just a little under thirty minutes south of downtown Dallas, on Hwy. 67. The name of the bar is The Oasis (not The Oasis on Joe Pool Lake). I've included the MapQuest link below...

Well, we are in Dallas and I think I know what the problem is.
So we've just decided we'll be serving $12 Grey Goose martinis and giving away free Affliction shirts and Kenneth Cole loafers!
