Looks fun! I still have my sights set on the PINS trip this July. Getting some stuff worked out on my Jeep so I'm ready to go in 2 months. Mainly getting a CB installed so I can talk to people during the 5 hour drive down there. Gotta replace my rear brakes sometime soon and get the diff fluids swapped out.

Just wanted to post a quick hello to my fellow Houston JKers. I'm out in Katy for another couple months, then moving back into town. I take mine out out to my hunting land and run/create some trails, take it shooting, took it fishing down in Freeport, and took it to the beach as well. Hoping to work my way into a group expedition as I meet more folks.

Hey Chad, nice choice of color.

Every so often a few of us Houston guys get together for a good night out eating some BBQ at Rudy's here on the NW side. Anyone is welcome to join us for that (we will post in this thread when one is going to go down) We usually have them at the Rudy's just East of the Beltway on 290. A lil bit of a drive from Pasadena but...hey...the social aspect and the good food should win everytime.

Have you seen the info on the PINS trip at the end of July? Read up and hope to see you there!

That would be good to know about. Can we get a link? I tried looking at the calendar, but it doesn't work for me. I don't see any threads in the TX forum labeled PINS or similar.

Late to the party, but...

Just signed up yesterday, wanting to participate in some wheelin' if available. I am too concerned with what is legal/illegal around these parts. "Not me, but this guy I know" played in some decent mud a little in a vacant contruction area to test out his MT/Rs an hour after he got them on. Other than that...

I was up in GlenRose for some low water crossing fun on the Paluxy River, wasn't too shabby, but really don't care for driving 3-4 hours to get some fun in.

BTW, i am up in the 249 / Spring area, spend a little time in Kingwood as well. I just got my Jeep about a month ago, it's pretty tame, with only a air raid intake, some exhaust, 2-something-inch lift, and some MT/Rs.

Has anybody spent any time on the trail near San Jacinto river off of 59 north? I've only eye-balled it from the highway.

Hey there! I am actually off of 249 and Grant. Origianlly from 249 and Spring Cypress. (all of 3 minutes down the road!) Either way, youre not far.

Serveral of us Houstonians are planning to meet up and head down to the Padre Island National Seashore (PINS) the last 2 days of July. Its a bit of a drive but if you were interested then youre welcome to join! Gonna be fun on the beach!

Got over a month to plan/make your decision. Plan on staying in a hotel room for a night (as camping will suck with heat and humidity). Bring water, lots of it, and sunscreen. If you came, you might want to look into a CB radio (i will be getting one prior to the run) as wheeling with others is easier when you can have quick and easy communications.

Anyways, if that interests you, hollar!

Thanks Rawb,

Sounds good. I have a little one on the way (due July 20th), so it's a "maybe" for me on that trip. I have hand held two-ways. Is that good enough?

I forgot to attach a few pics of my ride...love this thing. Dealership JUST called to tell me plates and soft top is on the way too.
