Default Dealer Warning

I have been meaning to put this up for sometime but have been forgetting.

Be on the lookout for Mike Pile Jeep in Tyler Texas.

They were extremely underhanded with me and tried to take advantage of me thinking I was a young stupid freshout out of college idiot. Young I may be, but not stupid, they didn't get me, but it was close. It is a really nasty story that I don't feel like going into right now, but suffice it to say that it was one of the worst experiences I have had as a human being, not just a car buyer. It is hard to believe that people actually do some of the practices that the dealership tried to do on me. And their service dept. is pathetic too.

Maybe later I will give the stories but I have waited too long to put this up and hopefully keep a fellow jeeper from the anger I experienced.

bought several trucks, cars, jeeps its amazing the creative ways they can come up with to get you , it happens just when your pen is about to sign the agreements it always has something to do with the math preformed previously , all the talking and negotiations fly out the window gets lost in the shuffle , salesman leaves then the finance guy does his thing . you must read every line and number very carefully. i know they must make a profit just wish they would give a price and thats that but nooooooo the number grows somehow

To make a long story short I had negotiated that they would swap the 16" stockers for the upgrades 17's on the x, those wonderful sra's. Anyway after the deal was signed and I had posssesion of the jeep for two weeks, I was called and told that there had been a mistake with the financing and that I would either have to put more money down or do a longer term. (I was doing 0% for 36 months.)

I said no thank you that is your problem not mine, I still want my tags and registration, but that is all. Nothing more was said until two weeks after that I get a call that my tags and registration were in and that they could also detail the jeep for me, (it was raining when I took delivery so I took a raincheck.) They asked if I could leave it with them and they would deliver it to me after it was finished. Dropped it off around 9, called around 2 in the afternoon and they said they couldn't release it until I signed a new contract.

I entered thermonuclear mode and went down to the dealership with a base ball bat, (not really) but very calmly called them out for what they had done. They refused to admit that they had done anything underhanded but kept trying to get me to sign a new contract I even went all the way to the owner of the dealership who said that the new contract just took into account a 36 cent accounting error. I called b.s. on him because that was the fourth thing that I had been told I had to sign a new contract for and was it worth pissing me off and all the bad publicity I will be giving for them over 36 cents? BTW, the original amount difference in the new contract just happened to be the difference between the standard and upgraded wheels.

Anyways I walked off the lot and called my bank and told them the situation. They called Chrysler Financial and bought the jeep out from under the dealership. Then I went back to the dealership actually hoping that they would still have it locked up in the back and not release it, I was going to call the cops on them for gta, because they did not own that title anymore, but they had gotten wind of the takeover and had it out. The finance guy was pissed at me and was talking about my shady dealings and stuff, like I was the one being underhanded.

BTW, they didn't really have my plates and tags in, it was another 2 weeks before that happened, but just to be spiteful since I still had the contract that said they owed me a detail, I took it to them after my first offroad excursion in the new jk, (see avatar pic,) and made them clean up all that mud and stuff, and stayed back there making sure they did it right, interior and all. They were pissed now.

That is all I feel like writing, maybe one day I will post what I wrote to the BBB, it has all of the details in it, and service horror story to follow....

and to all you guys saying Allen Samuells, that is funny because there is one here in Tyler, and that is where I get my service done, although this one is only dodge and chrysler, no jeep. They are really nice and really easy to work with and really honest, if only they sold jeeps.

But for my warranty stuff I go to athens, about 30 minutes from Tyler to a place called Elder Randall dodge jeep chrysler, they are some good old cowboys that don't give you grief about offroad, in fact they didn't give me any grief when they adjusted my throwout bearing under warranty and found all the crud in my clutch from when I sunk the jeep.

And they showed me (finally) where the vent tube for the manual tranny is, it was the last one I had to find.

My next jeep will be from them.

Yeah that place sucks. I did buy my jeep from there but I had outside financing AND got a great deal with a salesman and sales manager that are no longer there(back in December 07). I only have taken it back there once for a free oil change. No one stays at that company very long they will probably have a new financial manager next time you go in anyway. Don't sweat it.

I go to South Point JEEP for my Stealerships needs. They're pretty straight forward after the crap they pulled with me when I bought mine. It was a loner Jeep, but I got a steal of a deal on it and have never been happier with it. Soory to hear about your bad luck at the stealership.
