Default Dealership Advice

Can anyone tell me what kind if rep Bonham Chrysler Dodge Jeep has in Bonham, TX? They have a '13 JKU in billet silver with 15k miles for $26k. However it's a lemon buyback that they purchased from auction. I know some lemon buybacks can be great deals as the owners just made up crap to get out from under a loan or just know how to take advantage of the lemon laws. They said that a cam sensor plug was replaced and that the jeep runs flawless. I have bout $6k of equity in my jeep but the pros of upgrading to the newer 3.6 engine, lot lower miles, a color I have always wanted, and keeping the payment the same is starting to become tempting.

Any advice on this dealership would be great. Thanks.

This is like asking about Susie who has herpies and you believe she is all better now that she took antibiotics. SMH.......

They have to disclose by law that it is a lemon buy back. I wouldn't touch it. But, even a turd has a buyer at the right price. My advice? Keep shopping.

I agree with the above statement. Run, run away as fast as you can!

Not the same. Although I see what your getting at. Would still like info on the dealership though. They have disclosed everything so far and they do have others in inventory.

I would never buy a lemon buy back. The reason they bought it back was because they could not fix it with the original owner. I'm sure they didn't magically fix it for the next owner. I had a buy back and I bet the next owner wishs he/she didn't buy my old JK right now.

As stated in original post, there are instances where people fabricated an issue so they could get out from under a vehicle. Actually it's common from the research I've done. So some buybacks can be a great deal because there was nothing wrong with the vehicle in the first place. However something was replaced on this one so I'm thinking something might have been wrong with it.

However this thread isn't so much as should I buy a lemon buyback as it is looking for info on the quality of the dealership I asked about. That's why I put it in the lonestar staging area. I live in Louisiana and prices on vehicles in Texas are way more reasonable than they are here. Especially in the Dallas area which I'm closest too. Sorry should have been more clear in original post. My apologies.

I dealt with Bonham via email and phone while looking for wife's Jeep. They were courteous but ultimately deceitful. They had a few vehicles advertised with wrong mileage, and promised there were no issues with a Jeep we drove a few hours to drive. When we arrived, they didn't even have the Jeep, they had sold it 2 days earlier, and we called the morning of to confirm it was still there! I would be careful.

The cam sensor gremlin is a nasty one, he will leave you stranded on the road side getting towed alot. And just swapping plugs never fixes him.

What years does the cam sensor issue affect?

It is a rare problem that can hit any year it would seem (have seen the rare complaint thread about every year and model of wrangler at least). It is not a super common issue, but it always results in a lemon law claim/set the jeep on fire to collect the insurance from what I have read.
