***UPDATE*** The trip hunt was a success. Bagged a nice big deer Monday afternoon. Field dressed it, wrapped it in a tarp and strapped it to the hitch hauler. It was a beutiful sight...

 

I almost killed a deer once bow hunting...up in a tree (no stand just a big branch) the deer walked up and I was kneeling from exhaustion of standing precariously...so here comes the doe...I pulled back on the compound bow, too aim...leaned the bow and ...poof...the arrow fell out of the finger guide ...I started laughing ...the deer looked up at me like I was retarded and I just smiled, leaned back and watched it leave, figured it was not meant to be. I quit hunting after that ...I've never killed a deer and used to hunt like crazy in high school. I had a guille suit, tiger-striped face camo'd, I had hunters walk withing 10 feet of me and never see me...yet never killed a deer ....

 

Kinda like aiming to take that perfect shot while bird hunting only to realize you forgot to flip off the safety...

Bobs. I don't have the time to chase blues all over the earth, and my dogs hate them! It would be better if there were more Bobs around. I miss being 10 years old and finding BIG coveys.
