Keep driving past jamaica beach all the way out to San Luis Pass. Just before the toll bridge turn left on the dirt road and take it out to the beach. There are a few little trails through the dunes you can play on and the beach there is great and usually not crowded at all. We were just down there last week.

what ever you do...DONT pay for the annual access to surfside ($10)....its NOT worth it & its too damn crowded....not to mention its a small section of beach, its SLOW, ONE direction only & patrolled....its to equiv. to driving on brown asphalt !

If you are going to Bolivar from Kingwood, take the back way through Winnie. you dont have to deal with the ferry. You can get the beach stickers from the Big Store as well.
