Group Tutorials
I live in Austin TX, and have never been off roading. It would be cool to have a group get together and have some experienced Jeepers show us new guys the ropes.

I'm in the four corners area and we've always got trips planned, I think your state should have a lot going as well. Good luck and be safe.

join up with the local tx4wd.org chapter- membership is free. The chapters usually have a 101 day periodically to allow new members a chance to learn. That's what I did last summer. I learned a lot during that 101 day, and have been hooked ever since.
Aside from the learning, it also gives you a chance to meet other wheelers which gives you many opportuntities to go out wheeling with others (always better to go out with others than to try to go it alone).
