Headed to the DFW area sunday through tuesday to check out some apartments and get aquainted with the area before I move there for my summer internship at Lockheed. Anybody have any suggestions on places to visit while I'm there?? Already planning on stopping by Screamin Lizard.

 

Hope the weather gets a little warmer before you get here. Ft Worth side you have the stockyards, Give us some ideas what your into, I am sure the guys here can point you in the right direction

 

Yeah, I was hoping for some warmer weather too, but it looks like it might start to clear up around monday hopefully. I'm really looking for some good places to eat. Mostly in the Ft. Worth area. Maybe some good mexican restaurants. Anything else you guys think I should check out would be great. I'm up for about anything.

 

Which Lockheed plant will you be at?

 

Mexican food is a lot like BBQ here, some places people swear by, others don't like at all
Joe T. Garcias and Uncle Julios are always favorites I am not a big fan of either
I like Oscars in Haltom City, Migeulito's in the HEB are fairlly close to Screaming Lizards
Abuelo's is good. Some of the taquerias are really good El Taco on Belknap, Burrito's Loco in Grapevine. I am sure some others will chime in

I'll be working at building 500 and also at the main assembly plant at the NAS depending on the day. Thanks for the responses guys!

 

I'm not very familiar with Ft Worth, but you know what? You can't really go wrong with bbq or Mexican food here. Most of it is really good. The Stockyards is a fun place to hang out. Any event at Texas Motor Speedway is a plus.

BUT - Scremin Lizard is the best place to see for sure. Go rub on Gerry's fuzzy head and check out his work. Good stuff in that garage.

Haha, sorry I didn't see your post until I got back but I stopped by around noon yesterday. I figure most of you were out to lunch but I looked around the shop and you guys do some nice work!
